For passengers arriving in St Martin Island / St. Maarten Island on the cruise ships, while here just for the day on a short stay, we would like to list a few things you can do for a day here on the island.
You can:
- Visit Philipsburg on foot; shopping for jewelry, electronics and alcohol at duty free prices can be done.
- Take a tour and see the entire island with tour buses or local taxis. Numerous island locations and great views can be visited. During the tour small spot would be done at point like Marigot, the crossing of the borders between the Dutch side and French side, Grand Case, and at other historic locations stops.
- Go to one of the favorite beaches on the island for the day, taxis can drop you off and pick you up at your requested time. At the beaches you have the possibility to swim and enjoy the water sports and the great food from the beach restaurants.
Cruise ships visit the island all year around, but the busiest time of the year is from November to April.
